Spread the love

This Cookie is a beautiful remembrance of our childhood Days. Hai na?

Obsessed Lovers of Chocolates like me will go crazy over these Cookies that are loaded with Chocolates.

The nice chunks of Chocolates in each bite of it will make you fall for it.

These cookies are relished by each and every member of my home. From some Picnic to House Parties, these Cookies are a sweet addition to them.

I want to admit here, the hardest part of making these Cookies is to resist the batch of freshly baked cookies. Because, the Cookies are soft like cake at the center, right after it comes out of the oven.

And, I own one more disorder, I don’t like to share my cookies too. hahahaha

So, you need to leave the cookies at room temperature for 15-20 minutes; which is really really challenging!!

About these Cookies

These Cookies are popular among Kids as well as among people of every age. These Cookies are crunchy at the sides, but gooey, chewy at the Centre. Apart from loads of chocolates and All-Purpose Flour, there is a secret ingredient added in the recipe to make it extra chewy. And that is Cornflour. This is a quiet Optional. I like it to be a little chewy, so, I added them.

Ingredients Used

Butter: Make Sure, Always use Softened Butter. The Butter should be softened at Room Temperature.

Sugar: Use 50-50 Castor Sugar and light Brown Sugar. But, if you don’t have Brown Sugar, use Castor Sugar in place of that. Also, Brown Sugar has Molasses and it adds beautiful taste to your Cookies.

All-Purpose Flour: All-Purpose Flour brings the crunch in the Cookies. But, if you don’t want to use it, Replace it with Whole Wheat flour.

Corn Flour: This is added to get a chewy center in the Cookies.

Few Tips

Creaming Of the Butter and Sugar: This is a very important step. Cream Butter and Sugar together. Be Patient while mixing, because it will take 8-10 minutes. The mixture should not be fluffy. Use Electric Mixture or Hand Whisk.

Now, most of you must have doubts!!

Why making with the same particular recipe results into different shape Cookies? Sometimes they spread, sometimes they don’t!!

The reason is Room Temperature Butter, you start with. To fix this, Preshape your Cookies and then place the dough in the fridge for an hour. When the dough is set, no matters how you started your cookies recipe with or what was the temperature of the butter. Your Cookies will bake out beautifully!!

Let the Cookie Dough come to room temperature before baking.

Step By Step Recipe

In a bowl, add Softened Butter and Sugar. Whisk it with Electric Mixture until light and fluffy.

Now, when the Butter and Sugar have Creamy consistency, add Vanilla Extract. Add the dry ingredients, .i.e. All-purpose flour, a tablespoon of Cornflour, half a tsp of salt, and half a tsp of Baking Soda. Mix with Spatula until Dry ingredients, perfectly combined with the Wet Ingredients. The Dough will be sticky, so use the scooper to scoop the dough out to make Cookies.

Add Chocolate Chips or you can add chopped Chocolate in it. Place a Parchment Paper on Baking Tray or a layer of Aluminium-foil over the tray. Scoop out the cookie dough and drop over the Tray. Drop them about an inch apart. Make sure, the Cookies are evenly spaced!!

Now, Place the tray in the refrigerator for an hour to set. You can pop the Cookie dough in Refrigerator overnight too. Bring the dough to room temperature. Preheat your oven to 355 F and place your cookies in a Preheated Oven. The cookies will take about 20 minutes to turn a nice Golden Brown around the edges.

Transfer the cookies on a rack. Let the Chocolate Chip Cookies cool down for 15-20 minutes.

Serve the cookies, with a glass of chilled Milk.

Hello all.
Thank you for stopping by on SheWritesFood. It is basically a blog page on the vivid delicacies of India and the other corners of the globe.
My name is Pooja Mahto and this is my little space of the social world.
Indigenously, I'm from Bihar but currently living in Uttarakhand. I'm the sole handler and creator of this page.
I started cooking way back during my teen days as a casual hobby. Little did I know that it will turn out into a passion that I'll live and breathe each day.
As with life, whatever I have learned inside the kitchen is through repeated mistakes and misfortunes but the one thing which kept me going was my love for the flavours.
Cooking is anything but tedious. It is not only a basic necessity of life but also one of the most imaginative activities that a human finger can do.
My reason for starting this blog is pure and simple, my sheer love for cooking. The fun of experimenting with the various flavours and then waiting with bated breath for its veracity is truly magical.
I was a rookie when I started and I don't think that I have reached my destination. However, despite the failures, I have been able to enjoy the journey with complete acceptance. All this has been possible only because of my passion and understanding of the craft of cooking.
My Mumma has been a pillar all through the way, right from teaching me how to stir a dish to bake a cake. She has been my confidant and inspiration to keep going and to keep trying.
My goal is to share my recipes and experiences with you all so that you can go and try the same. There is no better feeling that to cook a dish with all your heart and soul and then listen to all the ravings by your loved ones.
