Cheese Cake

Spread the love

You will not find the recipe of this Cake anywhere (Might be). Because this one is made in my Nani’s Home. And, I have never eaten this anywhere other than her Place.

My Nani used to make this for all of her Grandchildren when we visit her in our Summer Vacation.

She is an intelligent woman, maybe she wants to make sure that each and every child of her consume milk in any form. “Chhena” is a milk form.

And, I don’t know, what to call this Dish. Because it looks like Cake, I named it “Cheese Cake“.

The traditional form of Cheese Cake is very much different from this one. But, this Cake will not disappoint your Palate, you can trust me on that.

The traditional form is no-bake cake, which is a good layer of cheese that sets up beautifully in the Refrigerator.

One dish is very much similar to mine and that is very very loved one “CHENNA PODA”, which means Burnt Cheese, an Odisa Cake.

About the Recipe

Making this Cake is very very easy.

The recipe requires mixing of all the ingredients in a bowl.

It requires a good kneading of the ingredients with your hands. No use of modern Gadgets here.

My Nani used to Roll the Batter in a Banana Leaf, then tie the leaf with threads. And, then Place the Rolls of Banana leaf in a bowl and leave the bowl over low heat coming from Burned woods for 20-30 minutes, till the cake is cooked beautifully and a nice aroma is coming out of it.

But, Nowadays finding wood to cook it is like impossible and banana leaf is not available all the time. For such situations, I bake the cake in the oven or in the Pressure Cooker.

But, trust me the taste comes out in that traditional process is like Paradise on Earth!!
